An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Assistant to join the team at our Nursling site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented individual to develop their career within procurement and supply chain.
As a Procurement Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day procurement function, ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with business requirements. Working closely with suppliers and internal departments, you'll help maintain stock availability, process purchase orders and build strong supplier relationships to support the smooth running of the business.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, i.e. 42.5 hours per week, 30-minute lunch break (unpaid).
Salary: £28,500 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm pricing and delivery schedules.
- Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on overdue deliveries.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information.
- Assist with sourcing products and services in line with business requirements.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the negotiation of pricing and delivery terms where appropriate.
- Resolve supplier queries and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment planning where required.
- Produce procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the wider procurement team.
Ideally, we are looking for:
- Previous experience in an administrative, procurement, purchasing or supply chain role.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a procurement environment.
